How trauma services work - Stepped Care

The first step is for you to drop us an email and let us know you are interested in one of our trauma services, even if at this point you aren’t sure which. You may have already tried a number of different approaches and they may have had mixed results. You might be feeling a little lost at this point and wondering if anything will help.

At the consultation, we will discuss what your needs are. We’ll share our price list with you with a detailed overview of the services we feel will help you most.

We offer something called ‘Stepped Care’. This means there are a number of different pathways that could help you that may include a mix of therapies and coaching techniques.

We know that some people find talking over the phone challenging, so we can offer a phone call or a video call. It is important that you get to know us, and we start to get to know you to make sure DL is a good fit for you and your needs.

Deciding to undertake a trauma focused approach is a big step. It may take some time for the therapy or coaching to work, and will need your full commitment to the process. Please be patient and kind to yourself when undertaking any therapeutic or coaching modality. And do try to confide in your family, trusted friends, and work line manager if possible so that your support team are in place and are ready and able to reach out to you should you need it.

Therapy especially can also be hard work, and feel tiring at times. This is to be expected, as we are working on the nervous system and deeply held patterns and physiological changes within your body.

Give yourself sufficient space and time to do your sessions and then rest and recuperate afterwards in whatever way works for you. Some people need rest, others need to engage and connect with friends or family, some may need to get out for a walk or exercise. There is no right or wrong approach to self-care and honouring what you need.
